long drift home

A very busy day on friday; straight after lectures I scooted down South, to sit in on Aaron's (Artemis Academy Figaro sailor) Yacht Master exam. With numerous engine failures and very thick fog he passed with no problems; keeping extremely cool-headed the whole time! It took hours to get back from Cowes, feeling quite eery with fog horns blasting but no ships in sight (despite them being pretty close!)

It wasn't long before I was back out on the water again the next day for the first J/109 sailing of 2012.

With 20-25 knots and stinging rain the whole weekend, the fog didn't hang around. It was great that everyone was straight back into working well together; but not so great that my kit is no longer that waterproof. Luckily the British Keelboat Academy is being sponsored by Gill this year, so it won't be long before the squad is looking smart in matching gear.
